The „Stella Nova“ is a Dutch tugboat, a so called Upduwer or Opdrukker. An Opduwer/Opdrukker is a quite small tug- and push boat, which was used in the Netherlands to push barges in inland waterways. Opduwers were at stake during the first half of the 20th century. There were two different kinds of Opduwers, open ones and some with deckhouses. Between 1910 and 1940 there was a huge demand for these kind of boats. Today, Opduwers are a rarity in the Netherlands and are popular recreational boats.
