"Hendrika Bartelds" - Sailing ship

A modernized charter ship

Built in 1918, the three-master herring logger was on the move near the coast for around sixty years, but fishing lost so much of its importance in the 1980s that a new task had to be found for the pretty ship. Today the schooner is on its way as a charter ship and sometimes even crosses the rough North Sea to bring multi-day guests from Copenhagen to Brest, for example. They experience how busy sailor life used to be, but at the same time enjoy the most modern comfort on the ship, which was completely restored in 2002. The atmosphere on board is enhanced by a beer dispenser and a barbecue.
