Fish auction shed no. X

From 1926 to 1928, Basin II of the fishery port was constructed. Its most outstanding facility was the giant (dimensions: 390 x 28 metres) auction and packing shed no. X, which was built from 1928 to 1929. Damaged in World War II, this large building was repaired afterwards. The extremely cold winter1978/79 sealed its fate: the roof collapsed under the weight of the masses of snow on February 14th 1979. This meant the construction of a completely new building. In two phases and at a cost of 11 Million Deutschmarks, a new shed no. X (length 547.40 metres) was erected and completed in January 1982. Fish is still auctioned and sold there today.
