A variety of program points for the whole family
Welcome to the experience islands during the "Maritime Days". The opening ceremony will be held on August 11, 2021 at 11 a.m. by German President Frank Walter Steinmeier on the "Ubena of Bremen" in the New Harbor.

Maritime experience islands in the area of the Harbor Bremerhaven:
"Buccaneer's Island": On the "Buccaneer's Island", small artists and craftsmen present themselves on a medieval marketplace with market stalls for food, drinks and sales. The program is aimed at families. The area covers 2,340 square meters and has a maximum capacity of 708 people.
"Harbor pub": The experience island "Harbor-Pub" invites its guests with numerous seating areas, tasty drinks and hearty dishes to linger in the maritime flair of the New Harbor in close proximity to the large windjammers and enjoy the atmosphere. The area covers 4,050 square meters and has a maximum capacity of 1,044 people.
"Open-air galley": The experience island "Open-air galley" is all about culinary variety. The food is freshly prepared right in front of the guests. With light background music, street food dishes are offered, reflecting the diversity of different food cultures of this world. From hand to mouth - the open-air galley invites the whole family to experience the ships, the Weser estuary and the horizon with a wide variety of specialties and numerous seating areas. The area covers 5,260 square meters and offers a maximum capacity of 1,145 people.
"Music-Shipyard": The experience island "Musik-Werft" is located in the Lloyd dock and offers with a stage and appropriate seating the space for cabaret and musical delights. The program present Bremerhaven artists and musicians and takes place from Wednesday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. and 4 zo 10 p.m. and on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. and 5 to 9 p.m.. The physical well-being of the guests is also provided in this island of experience. The area covers 3,690 square meters and has a maximum capacity of 1,027 people.
"Wine Deck": The "Wine Deck" experience island invites visitors to enjoy wine in the immediate vicinity of the harbor basin with its numerous ships while listening to chilling piano music on Lloyd Square. Appropriate food is offered to go with the wine. Numerous seating areas provide a relaxed atmosphere for interesting conversations. The area covers 1,200 square meters and offers a maximum capacity of 353 people.
"Music Shipyard": The experience island "Music Shipyard" is located in the Lloyd Dock and offers with a stage and appropriate seating the space for cabaret and musical delights. The program presents Bremerhaven artists and musicians and takes place from Wednesday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 6 to 10 p.m.. The physical well-being of the guests is also provided in this island of experience. The area covers 3,690 square meters and has a maximum capacity of 1,027 people.

"Sand Bank": sandy beach, palm trees, sunbeams on the water - pure vacation feeling. In Bremerhaven's perhaps most beautiful location - the Weser beach bath - the gates are opened and the OpenAir "Soulfood Night" provides a chill atmosphere. In addition there are great culinary offers from the grill as well as a cocktail bar and drink stands, which make the "Soulfood Night" only complete. The area covers approx. 1,100 square meters and offers a maximum person capacity of approx. 600 persons.

As a small maritime harbor festival, the "Maritime Days" from August 11 - 15 enrich Bremerhaven's event calendar 2021. This time, six thematic experience islands invite visitors to experience and linger. In the two experience islands "Musik-Werft " and "Sand Bank" tickets are required for the evening events. This applies to all persons!
Only recovered, tested or fully vaccinated persons will be admitted to the event area. Please carry all necessary proof. On-site registration via LUCA app is also required for contact tracking. To avoid waiting times at the entrance, we recommend downloading the LUCA app in advance.
Listening to music, eating something or watching ships is then during the Maritime Days always possible from 11 a.m.. The "Open air galley Island" (medieval village) and the "Open air galley" (street food) end daily at 10 p.m.. The stalls of the "Harbor Pub" (gastronomy) as well as on the "Weine Deck" (chill-area) close Wednesday to Saturday at 1 a.m. at night, on Sunday at 22.00 o'clock. The music program of the "Music Shipyard" starts daily at 11.30 a.m. and ends at 10 p.m., between 4.30 p.m. and 5.30 p.m. there is a longer break, during which all spectators:inside leave the area. On the "Sand Bank" on the program days Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday, admission is at 5.30 p.m., at 11 p.m. the area must be left again.
- August 11 at 1 p.m. Start of the traveling exhibition "Toxic Legacies of War - North Sea Wrecks."
- The pop-up exhibition will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. until August 15 around the NSW truck at the Seamen's Arm (at the extension building).
- During Maritime Days, August 11-15, the German Maritime Museum is also offering a special promotion: There are no set admission prices on these days. Museum guests decide for themselves how much the visit is worth to them.
