Surheide-Süd/Ahnthammsmoor landscape conservation area
In the southeast of the seaside city of Bremerhaven, an area of 157 ha has been designated as a landscape protection area since July 12, 1984.
The purpose of protection is the preservation and development of the productivity of the natural balance and the safeguarding of the diversity, uniqueness and beauty of the landscape. At the same time, the area serves the recreational needs of the public, who are guided through different landscape structures on an extensive system of paths. Special features are the mosaic of different environmental habitats such as moorland, heath and forest areas.
