Sculpture in the park area

Sculpture Park of Thiele

An idyllic park with old trees, exotic plants and sculptures, guided botanical tours, picture gallery and cultural program.

Sculpture park of Thiele is a curiosity with local historical importance, an ‘art garden’ that originated in the individual longings of a trio of artists who wanted to create the dream of a fusion of landscape, art and nature in the rough climate of Bremerhaven. Sculpture park of Thiele is a small, rustic oasis in the Bremerhaven quarter of Leherheide.

Nestled in a park of some 20,000 square meters adjacent to Mecklenburger Weg are ponds surrounded by exotic and indigenous trees and plants. Numerous sculptures, a Moorish-style building and a moor cottage are part of the estate of the family of artists. Sculpture park of Thiele, probably the most individual green space in the city, imparts a special attitude towards life beyond the hectic pace of everyday life. Exhibitions, lectures and concerts are part of the varied program of events on the large terrace in an enchanted atmosphere.
