In 1986, Bremerhaven erected a monument to sailing shipping for the first time with an "International Windjammer Festival". Further mega-events followed in 1990, 1995, 2000, 2005, 2008, 2010 and 2015, which have long since made a name for themselves near, far and very far under the name "SAIL Bremerhaven". Only 2020 fell victim to a pandemic. However, the city is traditionally and historically so closely linked to shipping that it remains loyal to "SAIL", which takes place every five years. The next "SAIL" will take place in 2025. We look forward to seeing you!
