Glenealy ist ein kleines Dorf in Irland. Sandra ist hier aufgewachsen und nach dem College in Dublin nach London ausgewandert. Dort hat sie Ray kennengelernt. Jetzt ist sie mit ihm übers Wochenende in ihrem Elternhaus, um es zu verkaufen. Nach dem Tod ihrer Eltern verbindet Sandra nicht mehr viel mit der alten Heimat. Denkt sie. Denn nach einem Wiedersehen mit ihrer Jugendfreundin Dairne tauchen wie verabredet die Maklerin Linda und ihr Mann Larry zur Hausbesichtigung auf. Und von einer Sekunde auf die andere ist in Sandras Leben nichts mehr wie vorher. Sie ist Larry vor 20 Jahren schon einmal begegnet. Deirdre Kinahan erzählt einfühlsam und ungeschönt zugleich davon, dass sexuelle Gewalt emotional nie verjährt.
