The Nordsee GmbH is Europe's leading expert in fish restaurant chains. NORDSEE is the only company that covers the entire spectrum of fresh fish, salads and delicacies with a varied offer and snack assortment. The company was founded in 1896 under the name "German steam Fisheries Society NORTH SEA" in Bremerhaven. The aim was to also reliably supply the population in the offshore inland with high-quality fresh fish. Opened in 1965, the first NORDSEE "Quick" restaurant quickly became the second addition to the retail division of the company. Since the eighties, offering of hot and cold snacks fulfill the desire for a good fish and at the same time enjoy fast service. Even today, the three sales channels retail, restaurant and takeaway snacks represent the basis for success of NORDSEE

Currently the traditional Bremerhaven company operates over 404 locations worldwide. 336 branches are located in Germany, 36 in Austria and another 32 in the rest of Europe and the Middle East. 2012 about 19 million customers visited the stores of NORDSEE and generated approximately 81 million customer transactions. The global system's turnover was approximately € 349 million. NORTH SEA employs about 6,000 people, including 150 trainees.
