Sustainable travel

By bike, bus or train

Explore the seaside city of Bremerhaven in a sustainable way! Travel comfortably to Bremerhaven with the local transport of Deutsche Bahn and NordWestBahn and protect the environment at the same time. You are more the sporty type and want to enjoy nature instead of just looking at the beautiful landscape from the train window? Then cycle with your bike and discover the most beautiful bike paths. Enjoy the fresh air and the wind in your face, ride along the Weser Cycle Route, the most popular long-distance cycle route in Germany, on the North Sea Coast Cycle Route or take the German Fish Enjoyment Route.

If you don't have your own bike with you, choose from the wide range of offers at the bike stations in the tourist information offices, which, by the way, also include bikes for people with disabilities. A free cargo bike can be borrowed by the hour at the "Glückswinkel" unpacking store or at the "Quartiersmeisterei Alte Bürger".
Recreational captains reach the seaside city via the river Weser River and choose between numerous berths in the marinas in the Fishery Harbor and New Harbor. Welcome to Bremerhaven!

In order not to reduce the limited parking space even more and to curb climate-damaging emissions, Bremerhaven has created an alternative to owning a car with the car-sharing project. At three locations, checkbook-maintained vehicles with a green sticker can be rented for the required duration.

Whether for dining, shopping or sightseeing, the Bremerhavenbus fleet connects the north, south, west and east of the maritime city
