Elvis Presley in Bremerhaven
The probably most well known recruit of the American Army, Elvis Presley, arrived in Bremerhaven on October 1,1958 aboard the troop transporter GENERAL RANDALL. The press as well as some hundred enthusiastic, mainly female fans, gave the rock star in uniform a hearty welcome.
An Elvis-Bronze-Plaque can be found in the Overseas Harbors on the quay in front of the Cruise -Terminal Bremerhaven at meter 700. The memorial plaque is not accessible to the public. However, if the weather is clear, you can see it through the telescope located on the visitor's gallery of the cruise terminal.
