A rotor blade of a wind turbine.

Tour de Wind

The Seaside City is a Center for Offshore-Wind Energy

Wind is the renewable energy of the future. Since 2009 wind parks have been built not only on land, but also offshore and in the North Sea as well. Various companies have settled in Bremerhaven and are devoting their energies to research, the construction and shipping of wind energy facilities.

You can learn much about wind energy and future climate-friendly power generation possibilities. The focus is not solely set on the present it also looks towards the future of energy production. The tour takes you along the various production sites for rotor blades, nacelles, steel foundations as well as the off-shore security centers including the Fraunhofer Institute IWES, one of the world's largest testing facilities, which examines the resilience and the deformation of rotor blades.
