Schooner "Ella"

An impressive schooner

The staysail schooner „Ella“ was built in 1935 according to the plans of its constructor Frederic Shepherd at the traditional Scottish shipyard Millers & Sons. The ordering customer W. R. S. Bond, Esquire, member of the Royal Thames Yacht Clubs, used the yacht mainly for representation purposes. A later owner sailed more than once around the world with the „Ella“.

The „Ella“, which was almost completely preserved in its original state, is an especially beautiful example of solid shipbuilding craftsmanship. The owner partnership bought the yacht in the year 2000 and began with the restoration in accordance with historic documents. The refurbishment of the hulk, hulls, deck, superstructures and rig are almost complete. The restoration of the well-preserved mahogany-interior has begun.
