Landing Place Fish Hall X

Everything having to do with fish in an original atmosphere

The Fishery Harbor II was constructed between 1926 and 1928. Within this area the most eye-catching building was the large auction and packing hall X. During the severe winter in 1978/79 the roof collapsed under the weight of the snow masses. The new auction hall X (length: 547,40 meters) was completed in the "old style" in 1982. Even today fish auctions take place here. The dates for the fish auctions are available upon request at the Fishery Harbor operating company (Fischereihafen - Betriebsgesellschaft) (FBG).

Four additional packing halls (XI-XIV) were built between 1935 and 1938. And between 1949/50 and 1993 the auction and industrial halls XV - XXIII, as well as several cooling houses, which are still in use today. The area is characterized as an industrial center with old-time flair, where major companies such as Frosta and Deutsche See have settled. While strolling along the old packing halls and cooling houses one will encounter small pubs, fish snack stands and restaurants. In addition to the sale and processing of fish, Packhalle V also has a puppet theatre for young and old.

Every year during the Pentecost weekend the area is reserved for the Fishery Harbor Motorcycle Race. This race, which was first carried out in1952 is an exciting magnet for racing motorcycles, side cars, scooters as well as oldtimers.
