"Fish the Cache" and "Cache the Port" Bremerhaven

The Harbor Worlds and the Shop Window Fishery Harbor become connected

Starting in the Havenwelten Bremerhaven (Harbor Worlds) with fascinating attractions the route takes you over the Geeste estuary to well-known and less well-known places and buildings through the Seaside City of Bremerhaven. The goal and end of the route is in the historical part of the Bremerhaven Fishery Harbor with its gastronomic mile, the numerous maritime shops, the Forum Fischbahnhof and the sea fish cooking studio.

Not far from the action in the Fishery Harbor the route goes on to the first secret depot of the „Cache the Port“ route. Along the harbor basin and through the more quiet part of the city district Geestemünde the route leads you to a relatively unknown location in the city center, which is also the ending location. From here you can go directly to the pedestrian zone or to the Harbor Worlds and continue your exploration of Bremerhaven

Using the geocache-route visitors can combine two touristic areas with one another in an exciting manner. Geocaching is an international game, which works with GPS (Global Positioning System). In various locations you will find hidden caches, so-called secret depots. This "treasure hunt" is a globally known adventure for all ages. The tour from the Harbor Worlds Bremerhaven to the historical Shop Window Fishery Harbor becomes an entertaining journey. By way of various riddles and hidden depots you reach the final cache, the last hidden treasure. Those who successfully finish the tour receive a certificate in one of the Bremerhaven tourist-infos, which also serves as an incentive to explore our Seaside City even more.

The route can be done by foot as well as with a bicycle. Furthermore there are also many other finds to log along the route, which are registered on www.geocaching.com.
