A motor ship lying at the quay.

A ship that removes plastic waste from the seas and converts it into fuel directly on board, this is the goal of the MS "Sea Bee". The process used is called pyrolysis. In recent years, SEA CLEAN has developed and successfully tested a prototype of such a PTF (Plastic to Fuel) plant.  This system was installed on board the MS "Cutty Jean". Thus, the MS "Cutty Jean" was the first ship in the world that could be powered completely autonomously with plastic waste. With the help of this technology it is possible to remove plastic waste from the sea in the long run. The resulting fuel can power both the ship and the PTF plant.
