A freighter with a crew on the road.

"Johanna" - Freight sailor

A lovingly maintained freighters

The “Johanna” was built in 1903, back then called “Hertha” and was owned by the skipper Heinrich Vöge. Back in time, the “Johanna” was part of a well-known fleet which was responsible for the commodity flow between Hamburg and the marshlands. The ships provided not just building material, for example out of the brickyards, but also fruit and vegetables from “Alten Land” as well as boxes and bigger luggage.

Today you can enjoy the pleasant ambiance on this lovely cared, over 110 year old cargo boat. The ship is perfect for little groups around 16 people. The flat floor of the ship makes nearly every route possible, even in not so deep fairways. In the former loading space hides a cozy accommodation and you can decide if you either like to enjoy the trip or help the crew while on deck.
