Anna wächst in der Nähe von Moskau auf, bis ihre Familie nach Eschweiler zieht. Ihre Leidenschaft für Stil und Mode bringt sie nach London und Paris, doch schon bald wird ihr Europa zu eng. Es zieht sie in die große, weite Welt. Kurzerhand ändert sie ihren Nachnamen und ihre Herkunft, gibt sich als Millionärserbin aus und mogelt sich so in die High Society in Manhattan. Mit endlosen Lügen erschummelt sie sich ihren Jetset-Lifestyle und gewinnt über ihre Verbindungen Investoren für ihre Vision einer eigenen, nach ihr benannten Kunststiftung. Doch Anna fliegt auf und muss schließlich ins Gefängnis. Noch im Gefängnis verkauft sie die Rechte an ihrer Geschichte an Netflix.
