MV "Geestemünde" - Motor ship
In operation in Bremerhaven since 2010
In contrast to many other ships, the "Geestemünde" had only one task from the beginning: to delight people with excursions. It has been doing this since it was launched on 2 May 1975, but its area of operation has changed constantly over the years. First on the road in the North Frisian Wadden Sea, then in Eckernförde, it even served as a canal ferry in the Nort Baltic Canal for a year in the mid-1980s. Afterwards her destination was Hiddensee, then Flensburg and Glücksburg. In 2008 she was on the so-called Dollart-Route, in the same winter even off the Polish Swinemünde. But since 2010, the ship has been sailing out on the river Weser for the "Dicke-Pötte-Tour" in Bremerhaven.
The "Geestemünde" is located in the New Harbor from March to November.
