„Fryderyk Chopin“ - Sailing ship
It combines the characteristics of a square sailboat with those of a racing yacht.
The "Fryderyk Chopin" is a brig that combines the characteristics of a yachtsman with those of a racing yacht. This type of sailing ship was also very popular with pirates due to its high speed. The ship, which entered service in 1992, was penned by the famous Polish shipbuilding engineer Zygmunt Choreń, to whom the world owes many modern and beautiful windjammers. For example the "Dar Mlodziecy", the "Royal Clipper" or the "El Mellah". From 1992 to 1996 the "Fryderyk Chopin" sailed for the "International Class Afloat Foundation", which offers young people the opportunity to gain valuable experience for life through sailing and to experience adventures at sea.
The "Chopin" is an old acquaintance who has been to many windjammer events in the city of Bremerhaven.
