"Freya" - Steam ship
Is the only original side wheel steamer still in operation on the German coast.
The steamship "Freya" is a steel side wheel steamer built in 1905 with tall wooden superstructures left in their natural colours. Originally it was at home on the Scheldt and today it is mainly used as a passenger ship for round trips on the Kiel Canal. Let yourself be captured by the original atmosphere on board the 112-year-old stylish paddle steamer. Listen to the hissing and pounding of the old steam engine, which you can watch from the saloon through the glazed shop windows during the ride, as well as the rotating side wheels. Despite all the nostalgia, the "Freya" also boasts impressive high-tech: regular guests love it for its buffet lift, which impressively serves delicacies.
