"El Mellah" - Sailing ship

Algerian state ship

The list of ships that Gdañsk designer Zygmunt Choreń has worked on is long and includes well-known names: "Dar Mlodziezy", "Mir", "Alexander von Humboldt". So much competence gets around. In 2015, the Algerian navy also ordered a sailing ship from him: the "El-Mellah". The "Seaman", according to the translation, impresses with its impressive afterdeck and the voluminous sail area. The masts of the three-mast frigate were set at the Polish shipyard in December 2016, and in October 2017 the ship was transferred to the Algerian state. Since then it has been sailing with 222 cadets, officers and crew.

The ship will make her debut at SAIL Bremerhaven 2020.
