"Präsident Freiherr von Maltzahn HF. 294." - Sailing ship
Named after the president of the fishing association R. H. Jasper of Maltzahn
Built in 1928 in Cranz, the ship got its name from the President of the Fischery Association Rügen, Hans Jasper von Maltzahn. Primarily used as a cutter, the PRÄSIDENT FREIHERR VON MALTZAHN was used by the German Navy during the war for mine clearance. After four different owners the Museums-Harbor Oevelgönne e.V. acquired the ship in 1983 for 5.000 DM. After five years of refurbishing, the PRÄSIDENT FREIHERR VON MALTZAHN is back in the water and was our guest for the SAIL Bremerhaven 2015.
