"Gloria" - Sailing ship

Sailing school ship for the Colombian Navy

The GLORIA was built as an archetype for the “Gorch Fock I” and used for sailing training for the Columbian Navy. Eye-catching is the high bridge which is similar to the Argentinian “Libertad”. It’s the first out of four barks (1976 “Guayas” from Ecuador, 1979 “Simon Bolivar” from Venezuela and 1982 Cuauhtémoc from Mexico) which were built in Bilbao for the Latin-American Navy. The GLORIA has been twice to Bremerhaven, SAIL Bremerhaven 2005 and Sail Bremerhaven 2015.
