International Multihull Meeting 2021
Multihulls from seven nations
The IMM, International Multihull Meeting, is a meeting of multihulls such as catamarans, trimarans and outrigger boats. It is held every two years in changing locations. The last IMM was held in 2019 in Karlskrona, Sweden. After 2013 in Warnemünde, Multihull Deutschland e.V. is now the host again. The event will take place from 29th July to 01st August 2021 in Bremerhaven.
All "ship spotters" can already look forward to a highly visible picture at the beginning of the meeting: all boats pass through the lock New Harbor. Since this is 50 meters long and 14 meters wide, several lockings are to be expected. Once in the harbor basin, the participating boats will lay side by side in so-called "packs". On Friday, the boats will pass through the Emperor lock to race in the tidal waters of the North Sea. After the return through the 300 meter long and 55 wide Emperor lock, the spectators will be presented with a spectacular picture: a "floating bridge" over the New Harbor, created by the catamarans, trimarans and outrigger boats. For Saturday, the skippers of the seven to 17 meter long sailboats are planning, Open Ship and a nautical flea market. Then on Sunday, the boats will leave IMM 2021 individually during the day.
