"Pascual Flores" - Sailing ship

A former freight sailor

The "Pascual Flores" was built in 1917 by the Calafate master Antonio Marf Aguirre, alias "EI Temporal", on the beaches of Torrevieja.

The ship was commissioned by Pascual Flores Benavent, a Valencian shipowner from La Pobla Llarga. The “Pascual Flores” went through several structural changes, going from a paileboat to a motor sailor and ending her days in England after it was bought by an English shipowner who attempted its first restoration without being able to carry it out.

The pailebote "Pascual Flores" became the property of the municipality when the mayor of Torrevieja, Pedro Hernandez Mateo, signed the protocol for the purchase of the ship in Bristol in February 1999. In this way, the restoration began in Torrevieja, which the “Pascual Flores” restored piece by piece, as was done in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The "Fundación Nao Victoria" is now the new owner, which has specialized in the operation and marketing of historical ship replicas.
