A traditional ship
The operational area extends from Bremerhaven to the island of Neuwerk and half the route to Heligoland. The "Hermann Rudolf Meyer" sea rescue boat was built in 1996 at the Schweers shipyard in Bardenfleth. His daughter boat is named "Christian". After being commissioned on July 20, 1996, the "sea rescue boat" was stationed on the station at Bremerhaven, and since 2008 at the pilotage building. It is named after a Bremen publisher and sponsor of the DGzRS, whose foundation allowed its construction. The daughter boat was given the name of the founder 's son.
