The MV "Geestemünde" was built as an "Adler III" for the Adler Reederei as a passenger ship for the North and East seas 1975 at the Husumer shipyard in Husum. In 1990 the vessel was extended.
In 2010, Weserfähre GmbH Bremerhaven, acquired the "Adler III" and a general overhaul took place.
