"Dar Mlodziezy" - Sailing ship

The DAR MLODZIEZY is the educational institution of the Maritime University in Gydnia for young mates of the Merchant Navy. It’s the replacement for the “Dar Pomorza” (ex “Prinzess Eitel Friedrich”), which is now a museums-ship in the harbor of Gydnia. The designer Zygmunt Choren, which also constructed the barks “Pogoria”, “Iksra”, “Kaliakra” and “Oceana”, developed this modern full-rigged ship with high velocity potential.
The STA-Regatta, which takes part from the United Kingdom to Portugal and back, was the maiden voyage for the DAR MLODZIEZY. It was a guideline for five other full-rigged ships, which were built in the former Lenin-shipyard in Gdansk (USSR): “Mir”, “Pallada”,”Nadesha”, “Khersones” and “Drubzha” under Ukrainian flag.
