Haven Bridge

The glass swing bridge between Harbor Worlds and Columbus Center

The 107.5 meter long glass swing bridge connects the Havenwelten with the city center. It consists of a 40.9 meter long central section over the harbor basin and two fixed foreshore bridges with spans of 42.65 meters and 17.15 meters. Thanks to the glass panes, 300 tons of steel used in the construction appear filigree and light. Its elliptical shape, lighting concept and rotating function make it a tourist attraction. You read that right. The bridge can be opened. It rotates by 90° over the central base and thus opens up a channel with a clear passage width of approx. 13.6 m and unlimited height.
