The Santa Maria Manuela (SMM) is a four masted vessel which was built in 1937 by “Companhia União Fabril”, in Lisbon. She was used for cod fishing and together with its twin brother Creoula, was part of the famous Portuguese White Fleet. In 1993, she was considered obsolete and she was partially demolished having only the hull been preserved. In 2007, the company Pascoal & Filhos become the owner of the hull starting rebuilding SMM, which was finalized in May of 2010.
